Telecommunication company Macomnet, established in November, 5, 1991 as a Joint Venture of Moscow Metro and Andrew Corporation (USA), in 2006 celebrates its 15-th anniversary.

Company "Macomnet", which is one of the leading telecommunication operators of Russia, historically became the pioneer in development of the following directions:

  • the first among operators which constructed its own fiber-optic network in Moscow and started provision of telecommunication services
  • became the first in developing of technology of telecommunication network construction in Metro underground structure
  • became the first operator in Russia and Eastern Europe which constructed an extensive network based on SDH and ATM technologies.

For 25 years the total length of Macomnet network’s fiber-optic cable has exceeded 4050 km. Customers’ premises are connected with Macomnet network by 4120 "last mile" lines. Customers are provided with full range of up-to-date telecommunication services including telephone services, guaranteed access to Internet, access to electronic trading and information systems, organization of corporate and technological communications networks.

High quality and level of service of Macomnet is appreciated at its true value by numerous customers, among which are big telecommunication operators, Internet providers, telephone companies, banks, hotels, exhibitions, embassies, trading houses, public and educational institutions, industrial enterprises and research institutions, mass media.

Macomnet also takes an active part in development of Moscow city infrastructure. Daily about 9 million Muscovites and guests of the city use the services of Moscow Metro, where turnstiles are connected with the Control and Clearing Center via the Macomnet network. Mobile telephone owners can use cellular communication services due to Macomnet communication circuits.
